Minutes from 1 September 2008
Dear Colleague
Thank you for working so hard towards Epsom Mental Health Week. The little mustard seed of an idea has grown into a large tree and hopefully many will find shelter and sustenance under its branches. We had a good meeting on 1 September and the notes follow. My usual plea remains: please let me know of items which I have omitted or erroneously included! And so….
Avalon will be able to provide a stall for the week.
The prison will staff a stall on 7 October.
Moat Garden centre will provide displays for the week.
Sheila King will liaise with the council re the market place stall.
Pippa Baines will be in touch with Jimmy White to arrange final details, including the delivery to and from St Barnabas of the snooker table!
Shiva Finch will liaise with Pippa re Guide Band involvement in the opening ceremony, and also with the Schools and Clare Knight.
Advertising Banners will hopefully be organised for outside St Barnabas, possibly across the High Street, and smaller ones for exhibition stands.
Jacky Clark will arrange the exhibition stall at the DOP and ensure that it is kept stocked. She will also provide carers’ packs for the week.
Becky Owen will organise a performance of the play ‘Who’s talking’ at St Barnabas during the week.
Meyrick Grundy will provide information packs about PALS.
Labels, similar to charity stickers, will be produced for the week.
A message board will be available at St Barnabas, and Visitor books at all the exhibition sites, for comments and contact details.
Jane Sadler will arrange a face painter for children. Colouring sheets and crayons etc., will also be available. For a future event, a poster competition could be organised.
Decoration St Barnabas should be bright, staffed by welcoming people, with balloons and good music to create a good atmosphere for all coming to the venue.
Please do keep in contact. The deadline for the brochure is now! Late entries will be posted on the website. Thank you again for your patience, and all the hard work. Hopefully see you at the next meeting – Monday 15 September, 12noon-2pm, St Barnabas including lunch.
Take care, and kind regards.
Sue
